she's so vain...

I'm giggling right now because looking back at the last few post's and the one I'm about to write, I can't help but hear the song you're so vain in my head.

I had a great weekend! Away from where I live, no responsibilities, laughing, crying, great food...oh I could go on but I need to get to the most important part (well maybe the second important part, I do LOVE getting to see my sister and her family, that's the first)...now I'm babbling cause I'm so excited. In Wooster, Ohio is a salon, Sheer Professionals. The stylists there have God given gifts, no lie! You can walk out of there and feel feminine, that's something I don't think I've EVER felt. If you live anywhere near there, shoot I'm 5 hours away and it's worth it, call and set up an appointment with Sandra Carr for a cut and color. She can seriously change your mind about your hair and whatever you hate about it, you'll realize it's not so bad after all. You will walk out of there feeling taller, more confident and beautiful but it's not cheap though so be prepared, say up to $150 for cut and color(s) but SO WORTH IT. I think another reason I like Sandra is that you can tell she loves Jesus. She lives to serve God and as silly as it may sound she really uses her hands and gifts in styling to bring God glory.

See why you're so vain is playing in my head :)

FUN!

Thanks to Big Mama, I'm having fun getting back into fashion and my appearance (in a good way of course not in vain, well, maybe a little vain) :) and remembering that it's important to take care of yourself especially if you're married! My husband has already noticed the care I've given myself when he comes home (and it's only been 2 days! That just means I let things go a little too long!), I'm not in a baggy sweatshirt and way too baggy sweats or as I like to call some of my clothes, scrubs.

Here are some fun places to shop online...

H & M - fun to shop in the store too when you're in the mood! It can sort of be confusing at first when you visit the site, make a model if you want, or just start strying clothes on the model they provide. Oh, and remember your age and dress appropriately :)

American Eagle is another fun place to shop online and they run some pretty good sales in the store. They also have some cute things for kids, a bit pricey but cute nonetheless.

The Vintage Pearl is a great spot to get some cute accessories for yourself or for a gift especailly if you like personalized things.

We can't forget fashion for our homes! Pottery Barn, PBteen, Pottery Barn Kids all fun places to shop and if anything, you get some great ideas! Lockwood Design and Turquoise will brighten your day and put a smile on your face (as long as you don't look at the prices, yikes!). Of course we can't forget Target and the Target's around me have a newer home decor section, noticed it last year and they have it again this year, fun stuff!

A good bra!! If your ladies are a little larger than this becomes even more important. Also, from my own experience, swimsuit shopping is HORRIBLE!! Biggerbras.com is a great place to get good "support" for this issue :) Here's my personal favorite and wear often during the summer months which are quickly approaching.

Have a great "Lover's Weekend" everyone!!

again with the paint...

This is my favorite sweatshirt of Owen's and after stressing out (I know I didn't need to but I was none the less) about what to paint his room I thought why not use the colors in this, I love them, so that's what I did. His walls are the light blue color and everything I'm decorating with I painted one of the stripe colors or at least as close to it as I could.
Bought this cute surfboard at Michael's and googled surfboards and found one I liked and tried to paint this one to look like it. I added cork board and ribbon to it then made some cute thumb tacks. They have some other super cute things like guitars, princess crowns, quote bubble (I don't know what it's actually called or how to describe it), girl and boy silhouettes (like you see on bathroom signs) and a few others.

Found canvas at Hobby Lobby, hot glued it then painted it to make a cute growth chart, we've had fun painting with his feet and hands lately :) I'll add more hands throughout the years as he gets bigger. I know the duck tape is an eye sore but I don't have the dowels cut yet, oops.

I painted this box months ago and mod podged fun paper all the way around it and ribbon, I needed something to do.

Friday fun!

I don't really have advise just a few places you can get some great accessories that include scarves. I also must include that most of my "fashion taste" I copy from my best.

Charlotte Russe -they also have some fun jewelry.

Rue 21 (you have to scroll to almost the bottom of the page for the scarves)

Buckle - You can find some great jeans here too. If you have a store near you go and check it out. If you're like me you are intimidated by places like this, like you don't feel "cool" enough to shop there. I found the Buckle, more than anywhere else I shop, to be more friendly and "accepting" of my uncool self :) they were so helpful and nonjudgmental, I felt safe there.
